Description
Terrazzo Tiles is a flooring material traditionally made by exposing marble chips on the surface of concrete and then polishing until smooth. It’s often used in buildings and factories because it’s long-lasting at least 100 years and can be refinished repeatedly.
Terrazzo is a composite material made by mixing marble, granite, quartz or glass chips with a binder such as cement or resin. The rough mixture is applied to floors before being polished.
Terrazzo tiles compressive strength should be about 4,500 psi. That means terrazzo, if cared for accordingly, can withstand 4,500 pounds per square inch of pressure.
Advantage
- Terrazzo Tiles offer alternative to Marble and Granite Slabs.
- The heart of this technology is”Moulding technique” by vibro compaction of the Marble Chips, Cement and special chemical mixture.
- Life of Terrazzo Tiles is more than 50 years.
- Crushing Strength of Terrazzo Tiles is 25 N/mm2.Whereas crushing strength of Ceramic Tiles is much lower and insignificant.
- Abrasive effect on Terrazzo Tiles by pinpointed load or sharp edge can easily be re-constructed and re-polished.Whereas, Ceramic Tiles cannot resist sharp and pinpointed load, it will crush.
